1. Did you have to employ people specifically to help generate TikTok content or were your existing team able to adapt to the platform?

Beauty Mix adapted and learned alongside their existing team when launching on TikTok Shop. It was a learning process that required time and effort, but by upskilling the current team, they were able to make it work without hiring new staff initially. Our advice would be to start slow — test the platform, understand what works and refine your approach.

Adam (BeautyMix) mentioned his own example as a consumer, who used to buy cat trees on Amazon but now prefers TikTok Shop because of live demos. This suggests that TikTok Shop is influencing shopping habits, but direct sales data of impact on Amazon sales would depend on individual businesses.

4. I’m quite interested in the actual onboarding process experience at TikTok. How high is the commission, when/how do they pay out?

It’s best to check directly with TikTok support or their seller centre for up-to-date details on these processes.

5. Can I advertise a pharmacy business on TikTok Shop?

TikTok has strict guidelines on what can be sold and advertised, especially for regulated products. It’s best to check TikTok Shop’s seller policies or contact their support team.

6. Why would a TikTok Shop fail verification? I’ve heard some TikTok Shops have struggled to set up due to failing the risk assessment.

TikTok Shop likely has checks in place to verify business legitimacy and compliance with their policies. If you’re experiencing issues, TikTok support would be the best source of information.

7. Is there an optimum number of products to have live?

Businesses have seen success even with a small range of products, provided they are actively engaging with audience through live shopping and content. The key is to test what works and expand from there.

8. Is there much technology out there that can connect TikTok Shop to our website and Cloud POS system to keep stock levels accurate?
