Role Overview
The financial analyst will co-ordinate with both the finance and commercial finance function to identify where margin is potentially at risk, and to ensure that all customers and supplier’s invoices are in line with their agreements, and to support business internal and external reporting requirements. They will escalate issues as they arise, and ensure robust controls are in place, and assist in ad-hoc queries from stakeholders across Sales, Accounts and Financial teams.
The ideal candidate will possess strong SQL skills to extract data to be analysed with a high degree of accuracy to reduce the risk of lost profit margin, liaise with suppliers to resolve challenges and provide accurate provisions to the finance team at month end, working to strict deadlines.
Education, Experience and Skills:
Essential:
- Analytical with experience in data extraction, manipulation, and presentation.
- Knowledge of financial processes and controls.
- Excellent knowledge of SQL.
- 3-4 years’ experience of financial analytics
Desirable:
- Good knowledge of Excel, with experience of managing large and complex data sets.
- Knowledge of Power BI and NetSuite.
- Knowledge of the logistics / distribution industry.
Skills:
- Present findings & insight to key stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Able to work off their own initiative.
- Good problem-solving skills & drive to continuously improve solutions through
